García Bernal fue nominado por su participación en “Mozart in the Jungle”. González Iñárritu por su trabajo en la cinta “The Revenant”, protagonizada por Leonardo DiCaprio. El anuncio lo dio La Asociación de Prensa Extranjera de Hollywood.
Iñárritu, quien este año ganó el Globo de Oro y el Oscar como mejor director por su trabajo en la película “Birdman”, agradeció permanecer en las ternas y se dijo sorprendido.
“No puedo creer que en esta época hace un año estábamos en Calgary filmando REVENANT: EL RENACIDO y justo ahora estoy en Londres y ¡me acabo de enterar de las buenas noticias! Estoy encantado por nuestro increíble elenco y equipo de producción. Cualquier nominación para esta película es un reconocimiento a todos ellos, su arduo trabajo y su gran pasión. Estoy especialmente feliz por Leo, su emotiva actuación y lo que hace es verdaderamente sobresaliente. Esta película es muy personal para mí; así que creo que tomaré una copa con mi hija esta noche y brindaré por toda la gente que fue parte de esto. Gracias a la Asociación de Prensa Extranjera de Hollywood, esto es maravilloso.” apuntó.
Por su parte Dicaprio externó su comentario por medio de un comunicado porque REVENANT: EL RENACIDO cuenta con 4 nominaciones incluyendo mejor película y mejor director.

Estoy increíblemente agradecido por la nominación, así como del reconocimiento que le han dado a esta película y a la visión de Alejandro como su director. Hacer REVENANT: EL RENACIDO ha sido un verdadero honor para mí. También quiero extender mis felicitaciones a todos los nominados. Gracias de nuevo a la Asociación de Prensa Extranjera de Hollywood”, señaló Leonardo.
Los Globos de Oro se entregarán el 10 de enero en una ceremonia en Beverly Hills que se transmitirá en vivo por televisión.
